Thank you for your time

At first, I didn't take the class very seriously; I didn't really get into it until the very end. This is mainly because of my personality: I always put things off until the last minute. The teacher really helped me remember the dates—something I have a real problem with—and I'm very grateful for his help. This class really motivated me to take better care of myself.

As many of you already know, our instructor always prints out his slides for us, and he does this because he knows that his slides are easier to understand when they’re printed. But that’s not always the case. Sometimes the slides don’t explain everything and are more illustrative, or they have a lot of animations, and when you print them, everything appears all jumbled together, like my slide. That’s why it’s important to consider what would happen if your slide were printed. Handout and Notes Masters help you edit your slides, so they look exactly how you want them to when printed, such as applying themes, backgrounds, and more.

Phase 2 Was a Different Experience

I honestly believe I've learned a lot this semester thanks to everything we've covered in Excel. Although there were times when I prioritized other courses and almost forgot to do my homework. In fact, I didn’t even realize I had to do A6 until the very day it was due, so my first draft was late. But I think A6 was an excellent exercise for practicing teamwork with Excel. Although many of us, myself included, seriously thought the assignment was complete from the start and that we had followed all the instructions in the PDF. While that may be true, I honestly believe the instructions in the PDF were imprecise in purpose. I think the point of the assignment was largely to meet our instructor’s expectations. Even if we followed all the instructions, we had to make the final product look accurate, professional and perfect. That’s exactly why I want to show you how to use named cells and ranges in Excel.
  • 5.7.3 - Named Cells and Ranges
Although naming a cell or a range in Excel may seem unnecessary—since, from a functional standpoint, we could simply enter the cell or range directly—it is necessary when working with an Excel workbook containing multiple worksheets because remembering the locations of each piece of data can be impossible, especially if the location is on a different sheet from the one you’re currently on. Assigning a name to a cell or range makes your workbook look more professional, as your future coworkers will be able to use your range to find the data they need more quickly. That’s why I encourage you to name every cell or range you’ll use for a function, because you never know when you’ll need it again.

  • Phase 3 will be about creativity and actualizing. Will you upgrade your mindset and habits to focus on the highest/best achievement instead of just keeping up/doing what's required?
It's a bit late for me to be responding to this, since I'm already about to finish Phase 3, and I think I'm going to use what I've learned for the presentation I have coming up in my other class, and I'll use that same topic for my improved version of A5.

Moving Fast and Learning to Perform Tab Stops

I am happy to report that I finished Phase 1 of my IS101 course even earlier than I planned. However, I noticed that I was rushing just to get it done, so I didn't feel very connected to what I was learning. In the future, I want to change my approach by being more involved in the lessons. My goal is to slow down and really understand the information instead of just checking items off my to-do list.
One of the most helpful parts of the course so far was the lesson "4.5.3 Tab Stops." To be honest, this lesson changed everything for me. In the past, whenever I wanted to align text in different columns, I would create a Table and then hide the borders. It took a long time and was hard to change later. Now that I understand how to use Tab Stops, I can align my text perfectly with just one click. It makes my documents look much cleaner and more professional.
The lesson on "4.5.3 Tab Stops" was a total gamechanger for me. I used to waste a lot of time building tables just to align my text, but now I know how to do it correctly and much faster using tabs. This practice is actually how I passed my MO-110 Word certification exam. Since I stayed consistent and completed all my regular assignments on time, I was already prepared for the test and didn't need any last-minute studying.

Fair Use of copyrighted documents for educational purposes

I’m Josias, a student of the Introduction to Information Systems class with Albert Wu as my instructor. On January 18, I received a text message from Albert Wu asking if I was available for our WebEx meeting. I’m going to be honest, I didn’t read his introduction email completely. This message was a surprise to me. I thought it was a scam, so I rechecked the email and then accepted it. It was nice for me to engage with the students before the first day of class.

1.5.4 Copyright Facts - Fair Use of copyrighted documents for educational purposes
When pursuing higher education, you’ll be asked to find information that isn’t freely accessible. While investigating specific and less popular topics, I encountered only fragments of a book requiring payment to access the full information. I do not want to pay just to check if their information will be useful; on the other hand, the information will only be used for an assignment. During my investigation, I encountered an almost complete repository of worldwide books that I use to educate myself. Obviously, they are illegal to print and sell, but if you need a book for any class, I can provide it to you.
